What we write

Three quiet ways to send a letter that lasts.

Every letter is handwritten by one of our writers, on cream paper, with a real pen, at the pace it deserves. Here’s what we offer, and what it’s like to work with us.

Personal Letters

The letters you’ve been meaning to write.

Tell us who the letter is for, what you want them to know, and anything about them that matters: a shared joke, a turn of phrase, a memory. One of our writers will write the letter in your voice, post it to them directly, or send it to you to sign and send yourself.

  • Thank-you notes, apologies, condolences, congratulations
  • Wedding letters, funeral letters, leaving letters
  • Letters to parents, children, old friends, long-lost people
  • Cream paper, real ink, a quiet envelope
From £38 per letter One letter, up to two pages, posted in the UK.

Client Correspondence

For the small business that still means it.

We write warm, short, hand-addressed letters to your customers, clients, donors, or members. Onboarding letters, thank-yous after a purchase, quiet notes on anniversaries. You send us the list and the story; we write, hand-address, and post.

  • Welcome letters for new customers
  • Thank-you notes tied to purchases or milestones
  • Seasonal letters for the people who matter most to the business
  • Cream paper, sage ink, and your logo embossed, if you’d like
From £12 per letter Minimum batch of 25. Posted from the cottage, UK-wide.

Cottage Commissions

One-of-a-kind writing, for the moments that deserve it.

Something a little more ambitious. We’ve written a thirty-page family history from voice notes. A letter to a newborn to be opened on her eighteenth birthday. A poem for a sixtieth wedding anniversary. If you have something in mind, tell us.

  • Family histories, transcribed and bound
  • Letters to be opened on future dates
  • Bespoke poems and occasional verse
  • Correspondence projects that unfold over months
Quoted individually We’ll listen, propose, and price honestly.

How it works

A slow, simple, four-step thing.

We don’t rush. We don’t upsell. We just get on with writing the letter as well as we can.

1. You write to us

Tell us who the letter is for and what you’d like them to know. A paragraph is plenty. Share any little details that matter.

2. We draft by hand

One of our writers reads what you sent and drafts the letter. We send you a scan for your blessing before any ink is wasted.

3. Ink, envelope, wax

We write the final copy on cream paper, address the envelope by hand, and seal it, with wax if you’d like.

4. Posted from the cottage

Royal Mail first class, most letters arrive within two or three days. You’ll be told when it’s on its way.

Not sure which one you need?

Write to us in a sentence or two and we’ll help you work it out. No pressure, no sales patter.
